Cave Point County Park
Door County is legendary for having 5 state parks, but one of the peninsula’s favorite state parks is a county park by the name of Cave Point. Here, Door County’s Niagara Escarpment comes right up to Lake Michigan. The lake’s powerful waves have carved caves and rock formations in the dolomitic rock.
Only 13 miles from Egg Harbor, Cave Point County Park is worth the trip for the amazing experience it provides.
It is a great place for photography, kayaking, hiking, and more. This is definitely a “must-do” activity for any visit to Door County.

Go to the Beach
The Egg Harbor Beach is located a short walk from downtown. Known for its calm waters, kayak and stand-up paddleboard rentals are available.

Visit a Restaurant
Egg Harbor has dining establishments ranging from the homey and family-friendly to the chic and modern.
PC Junction is an extremely popular spot for families with kids, although adults will probably like it too. PC Junction has been around forever and is a Door County favorite. No wonder, since they nurture a fun, festive atmosphere.
At PC Junction, your waiter is a model train. If you sit at the bar, a model train goes around and brings your food out. Super fun for the kids.
At the other end of the spectrum is Mezzanine, a new restaurant as of 2022. Less kid focussed, Mezzanine offers amazing view of the water from their rooftop bar and dining deck.

View a Lighthouse
Door County has 11 lighthouses. While Egg Harbor doesn’t have a lighthouse, several are within easy drives of this village.
The two closest lighthouses to Egg Harbor are the Eagle Bluff Lighthouse in Peninsula State Park and the Cana Island Lighthouse across the peninsula near Baileys Harbor

Powerboating is a popular activity in Egg Harbor. The Egg Harbor marina will help to facilitate your boating adventures, with a boat launch and transient slip rental available.
If you prefer plying the waters under your own power, Egg Harbor is a great place to do this as well. The waters of Egg Harbor are calm, given the harbor’s deep, protected waters. Bring your own kayak or stand-up paddleboard, or rent one at the Egg Harbor beach. Many waterside resorts also lend paddling equipment for free.
Door County Candle Company
The Door County Candle Company made national news in 2022 with their Ukraine candle used to raise funds to ease suffering in the war-torn nation.
Besides shopping for candles, patrons can also make their own candles! They start with a blank wax taper candle and then choose from an array of colors to coat the candle with whatever combination they choose.
The Door County Candle Company is only a few miles south of Egg Harbor, in Carlsville.

Peninsula State Park
A few miles northeast in the village of Fish Creek, Peninsula State Park is the most popular state park in Wisconsin. Here, you can enjoy hiking, swimming, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and the new Eagle Tower observation deck.

Attend a Fish Boil
Boiled fish? It’s a Door County tradition you should try! Egg Harbor does not currently have any restaurants offering fish boils, but Fish Creek, only a few miles northeast, has several.

Visit a Distillery
Given its remote location and the presence of so many fermentable crops, Door County has always had a distilling tradition, even during Prohibition years. That tradition continues with the Door County Distillery and Hatch Distillery.
The Hatch Distiller is right in Egg Harbor, and the Door County Distillery is only a few miles away, in Carlsville.
Door County is known as “Cherryland USA.” Take part in this All-American activity, usually sometime from mid-June through early August.

Egg Harbor is a great place to go fishing. Fishermen frequently land perch, pike, walleye, and salmon.
Egg Harbor Library
Go to the library on vacation? Absolutely, and the Egg Harbor library is a beautiful space to spend some time. Simply sitting in the Egg Harbor library is a joy given its location within the Kress Pavillion. In addition to the books and beautiful setting, a Maker Space is available to express your creative side.

Park your car and stroll Egg Harbor’s walkable downtown. From sunglasses to art, Egg Harbor will keep you entertained as you pop in and out of cute boutiques.
The Orchards is a scenic, full-service golf course in Egg Harbor. Winding through 200 acres of forests, orchards and meadows, the Orchards boasts 18 holes that are suitable for any ability level.
The new clubhouse has a pro shop, locker room with showers, and a bar and grill.
Egg Harbor Fun Park
Egg Harbor Fun Park is reliably a blast. This family-owned business delivers several amusing options including go-kart racing, batting cages, water balloon-flinging slingshots, bouncy houses, an arcade, and trampoline basketball courts. This park is excellent at providing what its name suggests: fun! It’s easily one of the most fun things to do in door county.

The Peninsula Players
The Peninsula Players is one of the most captivating experiences in Door County. This theater lies on the shores of the Bay of Green Bay, and you may be able to catch a Door County sunset later in the season. This professional theater offers a bar and canteen so that you may purchase food, beverages, and merchandise before your show begins. Catch a Concert
Egg Harbor has two free concert series: the Peg Egan Sunset Concert Series and Concerts in the Park.
The Peg Egan Sunset Concert Series is held on Sundays at 7:00 PM over the summer months at the Peg Egan Performing Art Center.
Concerts in the Park is held on Thursdays at 5:00 PM over the summer months at the Harbor View Park.
The Village of Egg Harbor’s events page is the best place for information about these free concerts.
Concerts are just one of the many free things to do in Door County.
