Egg Harbor has always excelled at feeding large groups of people. These best restaurants near Egg Harbor in Door County, Wisconsin carry on this tradition with excellence.
Egg Harbor was once one of the most important industrial ports on the Great Lakes. Due to the deep, calm waters of this inlet on Green Bay, Egg Harbor became an important center for timber shipping and for commercial fishing.
Feeding hungry lumberjacks, roustabouts, and sailors is no easy task. It was this need to feed large groups of workers that caused the origination of the Door County fish boil.
Egg Harbor still excels at feeding large groups of hungry people. While this village’s industrial days are over, tourists famished from long travels or outdoor adventures seek out Egg Harbor restaurants.
These best Egg Harbor restaurants marvelously satisfy those hungry visitors.

Mezzanine
One of Door County’s newest restaurants, Mezzanine is sure to become a fixture in the peninsula’s dining scene.
Like many restaurants in these post-Covid times, Mezzanine has a more limited menu. They are aiming to prepare a smaller number of dishes extremely well and within the confines of staffing shortages prevalent everywhere but especially in seasonal vacation destinations like Door County.
Despite a smaller menu, sufficient variety is given so that everyone will find something that appeals to them.
While the food menu is more limited, their drink menu is extremely ample. Daring cocktail ideas and a generous selection of beers round out customers’ choice of libations.
But, the biggest offering of all at Mezzanine is the views. The restaurant derives its name from its rooftop bar and dining area, a vista that amplifies this restaurant’s dining experience.
Water views are surprisingly uncommon at Door County restaurants, and this sets Mezzanine apart from much of its competition.

Fireside
Fireside is both one of Door County’s most unique restaurants and also one of its most popular.
Chef-owned and operated, the food quality is central to Fireside. And, the food served at Fireside is extremely unique.
Many Door County restaurants have comparatively unadventurous menus. Pub fare is extremely common, and even non-pub restaurants tend to serve rather basic recipes. The food is often well prepared and fresh but is also not particularly daring.
Fireside’s menu has a Gulf Coast flair. Cajun and creole flavors sneak their way into several of this restaurant’s dishes.
If you like less spicy food, don’t worry. They have plenty of dishes for you too.
But, if you want something a little different for dinner, this is the place to go.

The Log Den
Many restaurants have begun sourcing local ingredients for their food. How many source local materials for their buildings? That’s the Log Den’s claim to fame.
The idea of the Log Den began in the 80s when owner Wayne Lautenbach felled some lumber in the Ellison Bay area for their log home building business. The pieces were far too big to go into a home but would be perfectly suitable for a commercial building. Over decades of collecting such lumber, they were finally able to construct this unique edifice with a northwoods feel.
When eating at the Log Den, not only the food, but also the building has been hand crafted. This is a supper club with soul.
